The prep work starts before the first coat paint goes on!
Painting the exterior of a house can be a challenging task, but with the right tools, techniques, and knowledge, we can handle it all. Here are the general steps we follow:
We take your time, plan carefully, and stay safe while painting the exterior of your house.
- Prepare the surface: Start by cleaning the exterior surfaces of the house thoroughly. Remove any dirt, debris, and loose paint. Pressure washing is a good option for this. Sand the rough areas and scrape any peeling paint.
- Repair any damage: Before we start painting, we repair any damaged areas such as cracks, holes, or rotten wood. We use wood filler for small cracks and spackle for small holes. For larger damage, we use a putty knife to remove the damaged area and replace it with a new piece of wood.
- Protect the surroundings: Cover any outdoor furniture, plants, or objects near the house that you don't want to get paint on with plastic sheeting or drop cloths. We use painter's tape to cover windows, door frames, and other areas that you don't want to paint.
- Prime the surface: Apply a coat of primer to the surface of the house before painting. This helps the paint adhere better and also covers any remaining stains or damage.
- We choose the right paint: Choose an exterior paint that is appropriate for the surface we're painting, such as wood, brick, or stucco. Also, choose a color that complements the surrounding environment and fits with the overall look of the neighborhood.
- Apply the paint: Apply the paint using a paintbrush, roller, or sprayer. Starting with the trim and then move on to the larger areas of the house. Apply two coats of paint for the best coverage and durability.
- Clean up: Once the paint has dried, remove the painter's tape and plastic sheeting. Clean up any spilled paint, brushes, and rollers. Dispose of any empty paint cans and materials properly.

• Thorough cleaning & pressure washing
• Windows & ground completely covered, tarped and masked off carefully • Scraping & sanding where needed • Cracks & holes repaired • Wood is primed • One or more coats of primer applied • NO SHORTCUTS |
Avoid "Color Remorse" by seeing the color up front. We paint 1 - 3 color swatches on the exterior and let it dry. This helps you compare your color choices and see what the paint will actually look like when it dries.
